 CHALLENGES

The department faces a myriad of challenges. Key to these hurdles is the perennial inadequacy of teachers’ service commission personnel. Presently there are only five teachers employed by T.S.C. The rest are on B.O.G basis. This poses a great challenge since the department and indeed the school loses competent teachers to other schools during every teacher recruitment exercise annually.

The sporadic movement of teachers also creates a serious curriculum implementation challenge which leads to disruption of syllabus coverage and discontinuity in the classes they teach.

VISION/ WAY FORWARD

Despite the challenges enumerated above the department has put the following strategies to better the performance in our various subjects. Some of them include:

  1. Covering the syllabus in time.
  2. Inviting resource persons to talk to Form Fours
  3. Having joint exams with other performing schools
  4. Forming group discussion in the various subjects
  5. Attending all the lessons in the effort to minimize missing classes.
  6. Giving several exams to the candidate class among others.
